Buying with BBA
There are several ways to bid with us: you may wish to leave a commission bid, bid online or by
telephone
To leave a commission bid, please download and complete our PDF Commission Bid form with your
maximum bid and send it to admin@bespokeauctions.co.uk along with a copy of your ID. Alternatively, give us a call on 01242 603005 and we can talk you though the process. We may also
request you register on our website for security.
To bid online along side the sale, you need to register on our website by clicking ‘Register to Bid’.
You will be asked to verify your account using a bank account however you will not be charged. This
information is not stored by British Bespoke Auctions and monies are not taken from the account after the sale. If you have a the-saleroom.com account, you can sign in with the same log in. You can bid as soon as the catalogue is online. When the sale is live, you will see a livestream of the
auctioneer and you will be able to bid live.
To request a telephone bid, please get in touch with us by telephone or email and we can register
you. We will call you in good time before the lot is up for offer. We may also request you register on our website for security. Please note: we have a limited number of telephone bids per lot which are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Opening bids via telephone start at £150.
On top of the hammer price, there is a buyer’s premium plus VAT on the buyer’s premium. If you bid
online, there may be an online charge. Please check the Auction Catalogue for current buyer’s
premium and online charges.
For example:
Hammer price - £100
Premium at 22% - £22
VAT on premium (20% of £22) - £4.40
Total - £126.40

Yes, it is best to register prior to the sale to ensure you can bid for your desired lots on time! If you
have any issues, please give us a call and we will do our best to help you.
We're happy to accommodate you should you wish to view an item in our sale. Please click here to book a viewing. Please note viewing is strictly by appointment only and you may be turned away without one. Viewing is at our offices at Avondale Self Storage, Hinton Road, Childswickham, WR12 7HZ. Alternatively, we offer video call appointments or you can request further photographs.
Yes! We offer and in-house postage and packing service dispatching to destinations world wide, for
which we are happy to provide quotations. Please be aware we do our very best to expedite delivery
but on occasion delays can occur. If you require a postage and packing quote please reply to your
invoice with the delivery address and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
We use Royal Mail Special Delivery to send lots up to 2.2kg under £2,500 hammer price, over this
weight and value we despatch by DHL, UKMail, and Interparcel unless stated otherwise. Postage is
charged at cost price. The buyer accepts full responsibility for any damage or breakage in transit.
Our minimum packing charge is £10.00, exclusive of postage charge at cost. We reserve the right to
decline postage or packing should we feel the item to be either too heavy, delicate, or valuable
Our packing department successfully dispatch items all over the world! Please contact us and we will
do our best to meet your needs.
Congratulations on your winning bid! After the auction has completed, we will send you an invoice via email. Should you require a post and packing quote, please reply to the email with the delivery address and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you have not received an invoice, please check your spam/junk folder or give us a call.
We currently accept bank transfer (£10 international bank transfer fee outside the UK), debit card or cash on collection up to £5,000. Proof of identification is required from all first-time bidders.
Please contact us after the sale has closed. Purchasing an unsold lot is at the auctioneer’s discretion.

We have two types of auctions at BBA: our Live Internet Sales where we showcase items ranging from £100-100,000 and our bi-monthly Timed Internet Sale containing General Collectables ranging from £50 upwards.

Currently, we are not accepting ivory, fire arms which require a licence, Nazi memorabilia, certain items on the endangered species list, counterfeit items (ie replicas incl. watches). If in doubt, get in touch.
Seller’s Commission set on the hammer price as follows – 15% commission on the first £5,000 realised by any lot, 12.5% on the next £15,000, and 10% on any amount above that, plus VAT.
Listing fee (including cataloguing, photography, social media and newsletter) - £6.00 plus VAT for smaller items, £20.00 plus VAT for larger items (e.g. furniture), £10.00 plus VAT for items with an auction estimate over £1,000, £20.00 plus VAT for items with an auction estimate over £2,000, Large collections of stamps & books which require more images £20.00 plus VAT per lot.
Loss or waver, 1.5% on all sales hammer price, with a minimum of £1.50 plus VAT.
Additional transport is charged at £65.00 per hour plus VAT.

Yes – we are open for valuation Monday – Friday from 10am-3:30pm. Our jewellery and watch valuations are held on Fridays. To book a valuation at our Head Office in Childswickham, please click here.
We have several agents who travel across the country who would be happy to assist you. If there isn’t an agent near you, give us a call! We have also on travelled abroad for consignments!

Yes, we sell houses, land and other property. We also hold large house sales at a property.
The catalogue will be available online approximately a week before the sale date - we will send you a presale notification via email to inform you of your lots. This will include the lot number, description, estimate and reserve. The auctioneer will set estimates and reserves at their discretion. Please contact as soon as possible if you would like to discuss your lot.
As we are now operating online only, our sales are live streamed on our website. On the day of the auction, the website will update with a button to read ‘Watch Sale Live’ where you will see a livestream of our Auctioneers and Bella the parrot. Here you can create an account and bid along side the sale should you wish.
Once the auction is over, we will send you a post-sale notification to let you know what has sold and its hammer price. 28 days after the sale we will make payment to you via BACS, minus charges and fees.
We may rerun any unsold lots in the next sale at a lower estimate unless discussed otherwise. If you wish to collect your unsold lot, please book a collection here. We request you kindly call us to collect any unsolds once a lot has been run twice in our sales. Any unsold items which have not been collected may be recycled after 4 weeks.

Yes, she is not an automaton! Her name is Bella – she is a 22 year old blue and gold macaw. Nicholas, our Head Auctioneer, has had her since she was a baby and loves accompanies him for the auction! She likes to dance on the stand and has been known to try and bid! BBA is a proud supporter of The Parrot Rescue Centre in Costa Rica.
