When Nicholas Granger took the rostrum for the first time at the Auction Rooms situated behind the One Stop Shop in Tewkesbury in March 2008, the business was somewhat of a Steptoe's back yard with fridges, freezers and beds abundant and hardly an antique in sight.
Since that time, Nicholas has uncovered locally such exciting items as a set of Fabergé studs which sold for £9500, a 17th century Transylvanian carpet which sold for £6500 and a set of Gloucester 10th Battalion medals for £3500.
With the introduction of focussed Auction internet marketing and telephone bidding, Nicholas has raised the profile of the business so that it consistently achieves good results for its vendors.
A close relationship has been formed over the years in Tewkesbury with local buyers and sellers, and Nicholas looks forward to the prospect of seeing these friends at the new location, and creating a similar environment in Winchcombe.
With the added incentive of good parking and bacon rolls for sale on Viewing and Sale Days, a date in your diary is a must.
British Bespoke Auctions is a family run business with a very small and loyal team. Sheena Granger, Nicholas' wife can be seen on Sale Day orchestrating telephone bids from all over the world, with up to 10 callers at any one time.
The Company has appeared on the well known television programme Cash in the Attic several times.
A unique attraction to the Auction Rooms is Bella, Nicholas’ pet Blue and Gold Macaw.
Bella can be found bidding from time to time and will be coming to Winchcombe along with her new mate Morgan. Perhaps love will be in the air!
There will be regular Auctions specialising in silver, gold, porcelain, medals, furniture and collectables held usually on the last Thursday of every month with the first sale on Thursday 1st September.
